GSPM Family Organizes Grand Mashal Rally and Inspirational Shivaji Lecture on the Occasion of Shiv Jayanti Udgir
Under the banner of Gunai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (GSPM), Udgir, a grand torch rally and inspirational lecture on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj were organized with great enthusiasm and a Shivaji-centric atmosphere. The event was conducted jointly by Shankar Secondary & Higher Secondary Ashram School, Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic, S.R. Institute of Pharmacy, Rajiv Gandhi ITI, and GSPM International School, Udgir, on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti (Shivjanmotsav 2026).The program commenced at 8:00 AM from the historic Udgir Fort. The institute’s Secretary, Mr. Amit Rathod, performed an abhishek at the samadhi of Baba in Udgir. Following this, the torch was lit, marking the start of the rally. All the heads of the participating institutions were present during the launch.The grand torch rally proceeded along key routes, including Udgir Fort, Chaubara, Police Station, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Captain Chowk, Oute Petrol Pump, and Lahuji Salve Chowk, finally reaching the GSPM campus. Along the way, the participants energized the crowd with the beats of drums and celebratory chants. At Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Captain Chowk, students performed flag dances, martial arts demonstrations, and captivating cultural presentations showcasing Shivaji Maharaj’s valor, winning the admiration of attendees.Students from Shankar Secondary & Higher Secondary Ashram School, Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic, S.R. Institute of Pharmacy, Rajiv Gandhi ITI, and GSPM International School participated enthusiastically in the torch rally. Citizens of Udgir also welcomed the rally in large numbers.Following the rally, at 10:00 AM, an inspirational Shivaji lecture was held at the GSPM campus on Jalkot Road. The event was presided over by the Institute’s President, Mr. Bapurao Rathod. The chief speaker, Hon. Shivshankar Balaji Landge, provided an in-depth and motivating discourse on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life, patriotism, discipline, leadership qualities, and the concept of Swarajya.The institute’s Secretary, Mr. Amit Rathod, was present as the Chief Guest. Also in attendance were Mr. P. D. Jadhav, Principal of Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic; Mr. Vijay Yelvantge, Principal of S.R. Institute of Pharmacy; and Mr. P. M. Marshivane, Principal of Rajiv Gandhi ITI.The introductory address was delivered by Mr. Amit Rathod. The program was compered by B.Pharmacy student Laxman Jaybhaye, and the vote of thanks was given by Sejal Tompe.A large number of teachers, staff, and students attended the program. The Shiv Jayanti Committee, office bearers, teachers, non-teaching staff, and students put in significant efforts to make the event successful.The event created an atmosphere of enthusiasm throughout Udgir city, successfully conveying the life, ideals, and teachings of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the younger generation.
